LEADERSHIP IN WATER INNOVATION

For over 16-years, we’ve led the way in developing customised pre-fabricated water and wastewater solutions for municipalities, industries and residential developments in SA and beyond. We have also pioneered innovative models for implementing successful partnerships with municipalities. Complete turnkey solutions that include financing, designing, constructing, and management of treatment plants. In fact, this innovation has led us to become the first and only private company to own municipal wastewater infrastructure in South Africa.

Whatever your wastewater needs, we’re leading the way with fresh ideas.

THE UNFILTERED TRUTH ABOUT OUR WATER?
IT’S HARD TO SWALLOW.

A recent survey* determined that of the 824 municipal wastewater treatment plants in South Africa, approximately thirty per cent were found to be in a ‘critical' state.

Over twenty per cent were classed as being in a 'poor' condition. And that most of the remaining fifty per cent needed repairs and upgrading. The bottom line for this situation? Countless millions of litres of untreated wastewater and sewage being released into our rivers, dams, wells, and fields.

In many cases, it means water contaminated with dangerous pathogens, chemicals and heavy metals being released into the streets that divide our formal and informal housing settlements.

LWI MEANS HEALTHY CITIZENS AND HEALTHY RETURNS ON INVESTMENT.

That's the bad news – the problems. So, here's the good news – the LWI solution.

As highlighted in a recent OECD report, the ROI in treating wastewater can be substantial in developing countries.

More so in Africa.

The returns are estimated to be between US$5 and $28 for every $1 invested. Of course, this is in addition to the significant health, environmental, societal and political gains.

There are myriad opportunities on the horizon, but they can only be leveraged through experience, expertise and innovation.

Qualities that we’ve always been associated with at LWI.

The World Academy of Sciences has concluded that water-borne diseases caused by contaminants such as pathogens, chemicals, and heavy metals extract a far heavier toll on human mortality rates than was ever imagined.

EVERY YEAR, WATER KILLS MORE PEOPLE THAN CANCER, WARS AND ACCIDENTS COMBINED.

Some of the diseases caused by pathogens found in municipal water may be challenging to pronounce. But, when you know what you’re doing, they’re not hard to eliminate. Just talk to us at LWI.
